I have yet to capture his new smile on film yet, but it is the best smile ever.  He wrinkles up his nose, sticks out his lone bottom tooth, and his entire face just lights up.  It is seriously the most contagious smile.  I’m sure there is not one person on the planet that could see it and not smile back!

Here are some pictures from Emma’s fieldtrip to the pumpkin patch and some from our pumpkin carving with Melissa, Isabel & Ady.  (Sorry about the little pictures – it’s just much quicker to post this way!)

I’m not even going to attempt to catch up from the last time I posted.  I’ll just post some pictures and hopefully I’ll start keeping up with my blog – I’m thinking my grandma may disown me if I don’t get some more pictures on here soon! :)

Daddy is so proud October 3, 2008

Scott got him dressed yesterday morning and was very proud of his wardrobe choice.  You can’t see the matching Bears socks in the picture, but they are really cute!

I think this is his mean, football player face!  Doesn’t he look like he’s ready to tackle somebody?  This could be one of my all time favorite pictures – the kind that make you smile every time you see it!

I know I’ve said it before, but he is so cute!!!

Healthy me! October 3, 2008

Last Sunday was the QC Marathon.  A group of 5 of us did the relay event.  I ran the last leg – not because I would be a strong finisher, but because I didn’t want to run any of the 6 1/2 mile legs and Jennifer put dibs on the 3.2 mile leg right away.  What I ran was 4.63  miles and it took me 43:32.  If my math skills are correct, I think that averages out to a little less than 9:30/mile.  That may be a slow jog to many, but to me that is hauling a**!  And I actually thought I was going to puke when I was done – I didn’t, but I really thought I was going to!!  Three of the other people in the relay are very fit and good runners – Jennifer & I were really out of our league, but it was fun!  I looked at the marathon website and we got 5th place in the women’s division.  There were only 12 entries, but at least we were still in the top half!

Continuing my week of health/fitness, I met with Danelle for my first personal training session.  I really liked it.  After Becca was born, Candy & I did some personal training sessions and regularing did strength training.  I always enjoyed it, so I’m hoping to get back into the swing of things.  I didn’t make it back to the Y today to do my workout again like I was supposed to, but my schedule is crazy for the next week so I’m doing what I can.

Wish me luck!!!

I forgot my camera at Heidi’s house when we went to the b-day party, so hopefully Heather will e-mail me some and I can post them later.  The gym was really neat and Becca LOVED the party!  It was fun for her to be the oldest/most experienced gymnast there – she got a lot of extra attention from the instuctor, and she eats that up!!  Anyway, hopefully pictures will follow…

Milwaukee September 23, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — cristan @ 10:32 pm

We made it to and back from Milwaukee this weekend.  I have to admit, I was quite nervous about driving there with only Becca as a potential navigator, but Kevin came to my rescue with his Garmin GPS thingy and the trip went fairly smooth.  Of course, Brady slept the first couple hours of the trip…you know the part that we just stay on 61 and drive and drive without any traffic.  Then once we got to the Madison area and had to start dealing with traffic and changing roads (after dark I should add), he decided he didn’t want to be in the carseat and he cried for almost an hour!  I told Becca and Emma they were not allowed to talk because I had to concentrate on what I was doing and try to ignore Brady all at the same time.  They did a pretty good job.

My control/trust issues came out in full force while I was supposed to be listening to the navigator lady – I was having a hard time believing that she wasn’t going to put me onto a road that was closed due to construction or a neighborhood that a woman alone with 3 kids shouldn’t be in!  But now I trust her more, so next time Kevin has to come to my rescue (really it was Jen’s idea – Kevin’s just getting the credit!) I will trust her!!!

Tooth! September 17, 2008

Brady is cutting his 1st tooth!  I can feel it and see it, but it’s not quite photo worthy yet.  We’ll give it another day or so.  I really thought I had jinxed myself by calling him the happiest baby ever because he was so crabby last night and this morning.  Then I caught a glimpse of the littlest bit of white on his bottom gum.  I was so relieved!  Of course, not because he was actually in pain, but because he wasn’t turning into a terrible child! :)  I’m just hoping he’s feeling better before the 4 hour car ride to Milwaukee this weekend – I’m already a little nervous that Becca will be the only other person capable of helping me read signs!
